Joe L. Watkins, a proud native of Gaffney, South Carolina, graduated from Gaffney Senior High School in 1990. Seeking new opportunities and the next chapter of his life, Joe moved to Lexington in 1993. It was in Lexington where he worked at several furniture plants in Davidson County and met his loving wife, Terra. Together, Joe and Terra raised six children, experiencing firsthand the challenges and sacrifices that come with raising a family.

Understanding the Struggles:

Throughout their journey, Joe and Terra faced financial challenges, living paycheck to paycheck. Joe’s personal experience with these difficulties enables him to deeply understand the struggles others face. He is not only sympathetic but also empathetic to the pressures of life, as he has walked in those shoes.

Pursuing Passion and Innovation:

Seeking a fulfilling career in his field of passion, Joe pursued opportunities in the technology industry. He found his true calling at Futron, Inc., based in High Point, NC. While at Futron, Joe quickly advanced in both the technology and corporate sectors, fueled by his passion for innovation. His proudest accomplishment was installing security cameras throughout the United States Monuments in the wake of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Entrepreneurial Spirit and Community Impact:

Inspired by his experiences at Futron, Inc., Joe decided to harness his expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to open his own IT firm. In January 2006, Joe founded DataTel Technology Group, a company that connected him with influential individuals who would change his life. Eventually, DataTel evolved into what it is today – Centric Technologies, LLC.
